Not yet read, but The Perfectionists Guide to Losing Control by Katherine Morgan Schalfler is on my wishlist. It was recommended in a couple of podcasts I heard recently. (Note to self: Must do comps for my own NF project.)
Michelle, I’d love to hear about your comps one day -- good luck with your NF fiction project! I have read The Perfectionists Guide, which was really interesting, though I don’t remember a strong tie to illness. I am intriguing now and will go pull it out again.
I don’t know that it ties to illness except that a few of my healthcare team have commented they have a higher than expected number of client/patients who are high achieving and find it hard to slow down enough.
I loved How To Be Sick and The Invisible Kingdom. I would also put The Lady’s Handbook for Her Mysterious Illness by Sarah Ramey on here. She just got on Substack but hasn’t started publishing here yet.
Amy, thanks so much for suggesting The Lady’s Handbook For Her Mysterious Illness (what a great title!). I hadn’t heard of it, so adding it to the list to check out, along with her Substack.
