Thanks, Michelle. I'm glad to know it rang true to you. I appreciated how she called out the many unspoken assumptions and expectations. "To become better at talking to one another honestly about death and to truly prepare for it, we must first understand why we expect the dying to demonstrate readiness in the first place." Yes, oof. ❤️

My twin was ready about an hour before it happened, despite his cancer being one of the reliably bad kinds at stage 4 when discovered. I learned a lot from that.

Oh my, I’ve always been n favor of getting medical results immediately in my portal. I guess that’s because I’m impatient and I’m a doctor. But I agree, Brianne, that would be a horrible way to get a life changing or life threatening diagnosis! You’re right!
